Alex Nee is an experienced advisor, investor, and operator with over 15 years helping investing firms and PE-backed companies achieve significant growth. She specializes in firm- and fund-responsible investing strategy, ESG metrics and tracking, and achieving value creation initiatives for companies to drive meaningful, sustainable growth.

Prior to her current role, Alex was a Partner in McKinsey & Company’s Private Capital Practice, where she co-led the Impact Investing service line as well as several ESG/Sustainability and value creation engagements for private market clients. Alex’s experience includes serving several large and mid-market firms on their own portfolio investment strategy, and setting Responsible Investing policies and ESG guardrails, as well as working across the portfolio to drive value creation in the first 100 days through to exit. Her work ensured that desired return and ESG/impact profiles were met while maximizing alignment with LP priorities. Before McKinsey, Alex worked in the Tech and Non-Profit fields.

Alex is currently also a Senior Advisor to Recess Capital, a mission driven PE firm co-founded by Malala Yousafzai, where she focuses on value creation and growth strategy across the portfolio. Alex earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
